OEA addresses political crises in Haiti, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Nicaragua
OEA Secretary General Albert Ramdin has issued several warnings and calls for action regarding political stability in the Americas. In Haiti, Ramdin denounced the collusion between politicians and armed gangs, warning that such ties threaten the credibility of upcoming elections. He emphasized that candidates with criminal links should be barred from participating and noted that insecurity remains the primary obstacle to the electoral process.
Regarding Venezuela, Ramdin urged the country to appoint a permanent representative to the OEA to facilitate its democratic transition.
