OASA expands standard bus line program to 20 routes

OASA is expanding its standard bus line program from 15 to 20 lines starting October 1st. This decision follows a successful first phase where headway times on the initial 15 lines decreased by 13.6% during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.

The expansion includes five new routes: 051, 214, 732, 822, and A15. These lines will be reinforced with additional vehicles to ensure that peak-hour headways do not exceed 12 minutes. According to OASA CEO Antonis Kerastaris, the expanded network is expected to serve approximately 50% of all passengers.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Giorgos Kotsiras stated that the reduction in waiting times is a result of targeted operational planning aimed at improving urban transit and daily life for citizens.
