OASA expands urban transport network in Attica
OASA is expanding its urban transport network in East and West Attica starting Friday, September 18. The expansion includes four major interventions, integrating the municipalities of Lavreotiki and Megara into the organization's network for the first time.
The plan focuses on improving connectivity between suburban areas and fixed-track systems, such as the Metro and Suburban Railway. Key locations receiving upgraded service include Rafina, Mandra-Eidyllia, and Thriasio Hospital. The new routes and extensions aim to link these areas with major infrastructure, including the ports of Rafina and Lavrio.
Passengers will be able to use a single ticket to combine travel via buses, trolleybuses, Metro, Tram, and Suburban Railway on the Magoula-Piraeus-Koropi section. Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport George Kotsiras stated that the expansion aims to provide thousands of citizens with faster, more reliable daily commutes while creating new developmental opportunities for local economies.
