Following the destruction, the shelter has issued an urgent appeal for donations to rebuild the facility from the ground up. The organization emphasizes that the goal is not just to provide immediate aid to stray dogs, but to reconstruct a permanent, safe home for the animals.

Local advocacy groups, including Opat, have expressed solidarity with the shelter's director, Caterina Semeraro, while criticizing the lack of institutional support and calling for greater attention to the management of stray animals in the Calabria region.
