Oasis film premieres at Venice Film Festival

Jannis Lenz’s debut feature film, ‘Oasis’, has premiered in the Orizzonti competition at the Venice Film Festival. The drama explores the lives of three ostracized teenagers—Andi, Lukas, and Maya—who form a close-knit bond to navigate the social pressures and hostilities of their high school environment.

Set in a German town, the film depicts the trio retreating to the surrounding woods to create a shared reality away from the scrutiny of their peers. The narrative touches on themes of bullying, social fractures, and the complex relationships between the adolescents and their parents. The film is noted for its detached cinematography and its examination of the vulnerability and isolation inherent in the teenage experience.
