Oaxaca arrests suspect in aggravated femicide in Putla, Guerrero

The Fiscalía General del Estado de Oaxaca (FGEO) executed an arrest warrant and detained a male suspect identified only as E. C. C. for his alleged role in an aggravated femicide. The crime occurred on 8 June 2026 inside a commercial establishment in the municipality of Putla Villa de Guerrero, in the Mixteca region of Oaxaca, where a woman later found dead had her identity legally protected.

The arrest was carried out by agents of the Agencia Estatal de Investigaciones attached to the Vicefiscalía Regional de la Mixteca. Following detention, the suspect was placed in provisional preventive custody by the Control Judge, who set a timeline for subsequent hearings. FGEO reiterated its commitment to gender‑perspective investigations and the pursuit of justice for victims of violence against women.
