Oaxaca authorities raid barbershop used for drug trafficking

The Oaxaca State Attorney General's Office (FGEO) conducted a raid on a barbershop in the Gómez Sandoval neighborhood of Santa Lucía del Camino, which was being used as a drug distribution point. The operation, carried out on September 9, 2026, involved coordination between the FGEO, the Mexican Navy (SEMAR), the National Guard, State Police, and the C5i intelligence center.

Authorities arrested one man and seized various illegal substances, including marijuana, crystal meth, crack cocaine, heroin, and hashish. Additionally, investigators recovered a communication radio, 17 glass pipes, a notebook containing records of alleged drug sales, and a mobile phone. The suspect and the seized items have been placed at the disposal of the competent authorities for legal processing.
