Oaxaca authorities arrest suspect in violent cell phone store robbery

In Oaxaca, the State Attorney General's Office (FGEO) arrested a man identified as H. O. G. for his alleged involvement in a violent robbery at a mobile phone store in Zimatlán de Álvarez. The incident occurred on March 9, 2025, when the suspect reportedly entered the establishment under the guise of making a payment, then threatened the female employee with a knife. He allegedly tied and gagged her before stealing 63 mobile phones, causing an estimated loss of 259,000 pesos.

Following the investigation, authorities executed an arrest warrant, leading to a control hearing where the judge ordered preventive detention while the legal process continues.
