Oaxaca Congress Calls for 2026 Rodolfo Morales State Artistic Merit Award Submissions

The LXVI Legislature of the Oaxaca State Congress, through its Permanent Commission of Cultures and Arts, has opened the call for the Rodolfo Morales 2026 State Artistic Merit Award. The award recognises Oaxacan painters and artists working in other plastic arts. Applicants must be nominated by a third party, provide proof of Oaxacan citizenship, a biographical sheet and a letter of nomination. Submissions can be delivered in person to the commission’s office in the Congress building or sent electronically to the listed email address. The filing period runs until 17 August 2026, Monday‑Friday, 09:00‑17:00. A jury composed of commission deputies and two external experts will evaluate the candidates, with results announced by 27 August 2026. Winners will receive a prize and diploma at a solemn session on 8 September 2026, part of a commemorative homage to Rodolfo Morales.
