Oaxaca de Juárez underpass construction reaches 65 percent foundation completion
Construction of the Monumento a Juárez underpass in Oaxaca de Juárez has reached 65 percent completion in its foundation stage. During a recent inspection, municipal president Ray Chagoya reported that steel preparation for the foundation piles is 87 percent complete, while the pouring of the remaining piles stands at 45 percent.
The project, located between the Pueblo Nuevo and Trinidad de Viguera agencies, is currently on schedule. The foundation phase is expected to conclude by the end of September.
Additionally, a protective structure being built around the Monumento a Benito Juárez sculpture is 95 percent complete. This structure is designed to facilitate the safe lifting and relocation of the monument for a comprehensive restoration process, which will be conducted under the supervision of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).
