Oaxaca deputy proposes support measures for small businesses

Haydeé Reyes, president of the Economic Development Commission and deputy for Oaxaca de Juárez, has proposed new measures to support small businesses and combat informality in Oaxaca. Currently, over 98% of economic units in the region are micro-enterprises, yet approximately 80% of the workforce operates within the informal economy.

To improve competitiveness and encourage formalization, the proposed measures for 2027 include expanding income limits for the Simplified Trust Regime (Régimen Simplificado de Confianza), reducing administrative procedures with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), and facilitating access to credit for micro and small businesses. Reyes emphasized that reducing bureaucracy and costs is essential to helping entrepreneurs grow and generate better employment opportunities.
