Oaxaca expands local product sales and infrastructure connectivity

Oaxaca is seeing significant economic and infrastructural developments. Through the ‘Orgullo Oaxaca’ strategy, the Chedraui retail chain is now selling over 150 products made entirely in Oaxaca across more than 50 points of sale in six Mexican states. This initiative has generated 8 million pesos in sales, benefiting approximately 400 local families.

Simultaneously, the state government is focusing on improving regional connectivity. Officials noted that community consensus has been vital for the completion of major highways, such as the Barranca Larga-Ventanilla and Mitla-Tehuantepec routes. Future projects, including the proposed Corredor Zapoteco, aim to improve communication and access to services for approximately 11 municipalities in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca.
