Oaxaca inaugurates 2026 Coffee Convention to boost specialty exports

Governor Salomón Jara Cruz inaugurated the 2026 Oaxacan Coffee Convention at the Plaza de la Danza in Oaxaca de Juárez. The event brings together more than 120 producers from various regions to promote high-quality specialty coffee to international and national markets.

Oaxaca produces between 80,000 and 90,000 tons of coffee annually, contributing approximately 490 million pesos to the state's GDP. While 65 percent of production is sold domestically, about 35 percent is exported to markets including the United States, the European Union, and Japan.

The convention features 74 stands and 30 microlots of specialty coffee. It serves as a platform for business encounters and market expansion, supported by state and federal initiatives to strengthen the sector and ensure the stability of the more than 80,000 families involved in coffee cultivation.
