Oaxaca government issues 52 school registration keys
The government of Oaxaca has issued 52 Work Center Keys (CCT) to newly created schools across the state's eight regions. This initiative, led by Governor Salomón Jara Cruz, aims to provide legal and administrative certainty to educational institutions at the basic, secondary, and higher education levels.
The distribution includes 30 keys for basic education and 22 for secondary and higher education. Notably, 20 of these keys are for Community Integral High Schools (BIC), which will grant these institutions formal recognition within the educational system. This move is intended to support intercultural education, allowing students from indigenous communities to pursue studies that respect their cultural and linguistic identities.
By obtaining these official registrations, the schools will now be eligible to access government programs, scholarships, furniture, equipment, and infrastructure improvements. Officials noted that some communities had waited up to 30 years to receive such formal recognition for their educational facilities.
