Oaxaca hosts national meeting to strengthen livestock protection

Governor Salomón Jara Cruz inaugurated the Fourth National Meeting of State Coordinators of Agricultural Mobilization in Oaxaca de Juárez. The summit brings together authorities and operational personnel from all 32 Mexican states to harmonize criteria and protect the nation's agricultural heritage.

Governor Jara Cruz announced that the state of Oaxaca is allocating 38 million pesos to this sector, supplemented by over 58 million pesos from the federal government. Additionally, 10 million pesos have been designated to combat fruit flies in mango-producing areas of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.

Gerardo Guerrero González, Director General of Phytosanitary Inspection at Senasica, noted that inspection infrastructure has been strengthened to address the cattle screwworm. The agency reported that more than 7.5 million animals have been inspected in the territory, with new facilities capable of processing up to 350,000 animals per month.
