Oaxaca police raid detains two, seizes drugs and firearm in Soledad Etla

On 12 June 2026, the Fiscalía General del Estado de Oaxaca (FGEO) carried out a coordinated search warrant at an agency in Estanzuela, municipality of Soledad Etla. The operation, backed by the Regional Vice‑Prosecutor’s Office, the State Investigation Agency (AEI), the National Defense Secretariat and state police, resulted in the arrest of two men identified as P.J.O.E. and A.J.O.A.

Authorities confiscated 19 plastic bags containing a crystal‑like substance, a plastic container of dry marijuana, an additional 13 sealed bags of a similar crystal substance, five wooden pipes and a short firearm. The seized items were entered into ongoing investigations aimed at curbing small‑scale drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession in Oaxaca.
