Oaxaca prosecutors arrest two men for drug dealing near Etla institute

On 24 June 2026, the Fiscalía General del Estado de Oaxaca (FGEO) executed an arrest order against two male suspects near the entrance of the Instituto Tecnológico del Valle de Etla in Villa de Etla. Municipal authorities from Santiago Suchilquitongo, Etla, and personnel from the Vice‑Fiscalía General de Control Regional, together with agents of the Agencia Estatal de Investigaciones, acted on an anonymous citizen tip about drug sales. The suspects, traveling on a motorcycle, fled when police arrived but were intercepted a few meters away and taken into custody.

The detained individuals were handed over to the competent authority, which will determine their legal status. The FGEO reiterated its commitment to combat health‑related crimes and to ensure safe environments around educational and community spaces in Oaxaca.
