Oaxaca prosecutors seize drugs and detain two suspects in separate anti‑narcotics operations

The Fiscalía General del Estado de Oaxaca (FGEO) carried out two drug‑related operations in July 2026. On 24 June, agents responded to an anonymous tip near the entrance of the Instituto Tecnológico del Valle de Etla in Santiago Suchilquitongo, Etla. A police sweep intercepted two men on a motorcycle, who were arrested and placed under the authority's custody for alleged narcotic commerce.

Two weeks later, on 13 July, FGEO officials executed a raid on a residence in the El Rosario subdivision of San Sebastián Tutla. The operation seized a quantity of crystal‑type drug and two motorcycles reported as stolen. Two individuals, identified by initials (a woman and a man), were detained and handed over to the ministry for further legal processing. In both cases, the prosecutor's office reiterated its commitment to combat health‑related crimes and protect the safety of Oaxacan citizens.
