Oaxaca Ranked Third Among World’s Happiest Tourist Destinations

An Irish travel‑insurance firm, JustCover, analyzed more than one million online travel reviews to rank 155 destinations on a "happy place" scale of 0‑100. The study placed Mexico’s city of Oaxaca in third place with a score of 88, behind Tulum in Quintana Roo (100) and Soufrière in Saint Lucia (95). JustCover highlighted Oaxaca’s cuisine, markets, indigenous cultural heritage, historic centre and the Day of the Dead celebrations as key attractions.

The Oaxaca state tourism secretariat said the ranking reflects joint efforts by the state government and tourism operators to raise the city’s international profile and improve its competitive edge.
