The Oaxaca State Congress hosted the 'Encuentro de Cabildo Infantil y Juvenil 2026,' a participatory exercise designed to provide a platform for younger generations to express their ideas and proposals.

During the event, 43 councilors between the ages of 8 and 15, representing the municipalities of Villa de Tututepec de Melchor Ocampo and Oaxaca de Juárez, occupied the state's legislative tribune. The initiative was organized by the Parliamentary Group of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico, including deputies Eva Diego Cruz, Elvia Gabriela Pérez López, and Melina Hernández Sosa.

Participants presented proposals on various social issues, including security, health, gender equality, the preservation of native languages, addiction prevention, school bullying, responsible technology use, and environmental protection.
