Oaxaca authorities arrest suspects in violent vehicle theft and attempted homicide

The Oaxaca State Attorney General’s Office (FGEO) carried out two separate apprehensions. In San Juan Guichicovi, agents of the State Investigation Agency (AEI) detained a male suspect identified as O. V. G. for his alleged role in a violent motor‑vehicle robbery on 26 April 2026, in which a Honda motorcycle was taken after the perpetrator threatened the victim with a firearm.

In the same week, FGEO executed additional warrants in the Mixteca and Costa regions. A male suspect identified as G. C. C. was arrested near the Teotitlán–Huautla federal highway for alleged injuries and threats against a victim, while another suspect, M. A. B. R., was taken in connection with a qualified attempted homicide in the Costa area. Both men were transferred to the relevant regional vice‑prosecutor’s offices and placed at the disposal of the judiciary.
