Oaxaca State Police officer resigns after video shows alcohol consumption in uniform

A female officer of the Oaxaca State Police has submitted an irrevocable resignation following the viral spread of a video showing her allegedly consuming alcoholic beverages while wearing her official uniform.

The Oaxaca Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) announced that the officer submitted her resignation on August 20. The incident prompted the SSPC to activate internal supervision mechanisms and initiate an investigation through the General Directorate of Internal Affairs to determine if the conduct violated institutional protocols and principles.

The Secretariat emphasized that public security roles require professional, responsible conduct in accordance with legality and discipline. The agency stated it would not determine specific responsibilities or sanctions until the formal internal procedure is concluded.
