Skanderborg man remanded for fatal assault in Hovedgård

A 47-year-old man from Skanderborg has been remanded in custody for four weeks following the death of a 60-year-old man in Hovedgård, north of Horsens. The victim was discovered by home care services on a Monday morning.

According to charges presented at the Horsens Court, the victim suffered extensive violence, including repeated blows to the head and body, occurring between Sunday evening and early Monday morning. Authorities believe a blunt weapon may have been used, though it has not yet been identified.

The suspect is also facing charges for a separate incident of aggravated violence in Gjesing near Skanderborg in March 2025. The suspect has denied guilt in both cases through his defense attorney. Due to concerns that a potential accomplice may still be at large, the court hearing was held behind closed doors.
