Obama Presidential Center opens with focus on interactive and tactile exhibits

The Obama Presidential Center in Chicago has opened, featuring interactive and tactile exhibits designed to engage diverse audiences. The museum includes a central space with video clips and photographs of President Barack Obama, including his 2017 farewell address.

To enhance accessibility, the center provides tactile models of significant landmarks such as the U.S. Capitol, the Supreme Court, and the White House. Visitors can also interact with fabric swatches from Michelle Obama’s iconic outfits, including materials by designers such as Isabel Toledo, Jason Wu, and Versace. Additionally, the museum utilizes Braille and textured comic panels to ensure an inclusive experience for blind and low-vision visitors.
