Obayashi Corporation reduces legal research time by 67% using Tektome AI

Obayashi Corporation has begun trial implementation of Tektome, an agentic intelligence platform specialized for the construction industry, to streamline legal and regulatory research during the early design phases of projects.

In the construction and design process, professionals must navigate complex regulations including the Building Standards Act, Fire Service Act, and Energy Conservation Act, as well as various local ordinances. The Tektome platform allows designers to interact with AI agents to organize points of interest and perform self-checks before formal reviews by specialized departments.

During verification, the company reported a significant increase in efficiency. The time required for legal research and requirement organization was reduced from an average of 4.3 hours per person per week to 1.4 hours, representing a reduction of approximately 67%. The system provides conclusions alongside the specific legal articles used as evidence, though human experts remain responsible for final decisions.
