Oberá Film Festival features community-led short films
The 23rd edition of the Oberá Film Festival, including the ‘Oberá en Cortos’ program, will take place from October 6 to 11. This year’s event emphasizes community involvement, with seven local neighborhoods participating through their neighborhood commissions to present short films that explore their specific histories, identities, and community perspectives.
The festival’s programming spans feature films, short films, workshops, and professional encounters. It will be hosted across 22 screens in 15 cities, extending beyond Oberá to include locations in Misiones, Santa Fe, and Formosa, as well as international venues in Paraguay, Brazil, and Cuba.
Key highlights include the ‘Largometrajes Entre Fronteras’ segment and a special day dedicated to Cuban cinema featuring actress and screenwriter Mirta Ibarra. Additionally, the Cinemateca Paulo Amorim will participate to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
