Oberpfalz Forest Club Marks 100‑Year Anniversary in Floß
The Oberpfalz Forest Club’s Floß and surrounding area branch is preparing a two‑day celebration on 10‑11 October to mark its centenary. The festivities coincide with the main association’s annual general meeting in Weiden. Chairman Markus Staschewski and the board are overseeing the program, which centers on the “Blumentombola” in the market‑square area and a midsummer (Sonnwend) celebration at the Mühlpaint recreation site. Volunteers are supporting the events, and a commemorative club chronicle is being compiled with contributions from the local heritage group Plankenhammer.
The club also plans to publish a facsimile of the 1926 local chronicle by Leonhard Bär and a fifth picture book highlighting the centenary and the historic chronicle. The preparations aim to showcase the club’s long‑standing community role and its youth work during the jubilee year.
