Oberschleißheim to host exhibition on moor conservation and climate protection

An exhibition titled "Licht ins Moor" (Light into the Moor) is opening at the Bürgerzentrum in Oberschleißheim to highlight the ecological importance of moors as carbon sinks and habitats for rare species. The project is a collaboration between the Office for Food, Agriculture and Forestry (AELF) and moor specialists from the Munich, Dachau, and Fürstenfeldbruck districts, as well as the Dachauer Moos association.

On the opening evening, September 21, Prof. Dr. Matthias Drösler, head of the Institute for Ecology and Landscape at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, will deliver a lecture titled "Wetness is better – Ecosystem functions of moors and their contribution to natural climate protection." Guided tours led by the Munich District Office moor manager will also be available on September 23 and September 30.
