Obertauern promotes year-round tourism from skiing to golf

Obertauern, located in Salzburger Land, is positioning itself as a versatile destination for both winter and summer tourism. In the winter, the resort offers true ‘ski-in-ski-out’ access, where the Tauernrunde entry point is located directly behind the hotels near the Gamsleiten chairlift, eliminating the need for cars or buses. The ski area operates between 1,630 and 2,313 meters, providing over 100 kilometers of slopes and snow security from November to May.

During the summer, the region transitions to hiking, mountain biking, and golf. The area is also noted for its historical connection to The Beatles, who filmed scenes for the movie ‘Help!’ there in 1965. To expand its appeal beyond winter sports, the region is increasingly focusing on summer activities and its proximity to several golf courses.
