Oberursel e-rickshaw project celebrates five years of service

In Oberursel, Germany, an e-rickshaw project has reached its five-year milestone. The initiative provides free rides for residents of care facilities and individuals with limited mobility to promote social participation and quality of life.

The project began in May 2021 as a three-month trial supported by the state of Hessen. Following high demand, a private donation allowed the service to become a permanent fixture, currently funded by the Stiftung Kinder- und Altenhilfe. The service relies on dedicated volunteers to transport passengers through the city and surrounding nature.
