Oberursel Medieval Market Anticipates Up to 14,000 Visitors

The town of Oberursel in the Taunus region will host its 16th annual medieval market, "Oberurseler Feyerey," on August 1‑2, 2026. Organized by the medieval association Ursellis Historica, the event expects up to 14,000 visitors and will feature more than 200 participants from 21 external medieval groups.

Program highlights include sword‑clashing reenactments, horse‑show performances by Anton and Kathi Zühlke, fire‑juggling displays, a nightly fire show by Kevin Rigby and the Fyre Fenix troupe, and demonstrations by the Ronneburger fencing school. Medieval music and dance groups will perform on a half‑hour schedule, while 40 craft vendors offer leatherwork, pottery, bows, jewelry, and food ranging from meat dishes to vegan options. Fifteen taverns will serve drinks such as mead, spiced wine, cherry beer, and whiskey.
