Obour City cardboard factory fire causes material damage

A large fire broke out at a cardboard factory storage yard in the industrial zone of Obour City, Qalyubia Governorate. The blaze originated in an area used for storing large cardboard rolls and spread due to the density of the stored materials.

Emergency response efforts involved approximately 30 fire engines and several ambulances. While the fire reached the fourth floor of a neighboring clothing factory, civil protection forces successfully contained the flames and prevented further spread to adjacent facilities.

Reports on casualties vary; one account indicates two people were injured, while another states there were no human casualties and only material losses. Obour Hospital raised its emergency medical readiness as a precaution. Local authorities, including the Governor of Qalyubia and the Director of Security, monitored the scene. Civil protection teams continued cooling operations to prevent reignition, and the Public Prosecution has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
