OBS Studio 32.2 Release Improves Source Adding and Encoder Support

The open‑source broadcasting tool OBS Studio has released version 32.2. The update replaces the old source‑type dropdown with a dedicated Add Source dialog, making it easier to select and add new sources. It also introduces a dynamic multitrack bitrate that adapts to changing network conditions, a filter for converting SDR content to HDR, and adds WebP image support for the Image Slide Show source. Additional UI refinements include copy‑and‑paste functions for the frontend API, improved FPS selector, and better synchronization of the audio mixer.

Technical enhancements cover improved GPU encoding with AV1 and HEVC hardware support, refined virtual‑camera performance, and fixes for Linux users such as PipeWire capture on NVIDIA hardware, restored VAAPI AV1 encoding via WHIP, and corrected NVENC bitrate handling in CQVBR mode. Various stability and performance patches round out the release.
