Obsession horror film streams on Peacock July 17

The low‑budget horror movie *Obsession* will begin streaming on NBCUniversal’s Peacock service on July 17. Directed by Curry Barker as his feature‑film debut, the film was acquired for $14 million after debuting at the Toronto International Film Festival and has earned roughly $370 million worldwide, making it the highest‑grossing release in Focus Features history. Produced for less than $1 million, the story follows Bear, whose wish for coworker Nikki’s love turns into a deadly obsession. The streaming launch follows a strong theatrical run and critical praise, and Barker’s next projects include *Anything but Ghosts* and an A24 reboot of *The Texas Chainsaw Massacre*.
