Obsession horror film surpasses 100 million dollars at global box office

The horror film ‘Obsession’, written, directed, and edited by YouTuber Curry Barker, has become a major commercial success, surpassing 100 million dollars in global box office revenue on a budget of less than one million dollars. The film, produced by Blumhouse, saw a rare 39% increase in revenue during its second weekend compared to its debut.

While ‘Obsession’ was a critical standout with a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes, it has recently been surpassed in critical reception by Jane Schoenbrun’s ‘Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma’. The latter currently holds a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, though it has not yet matched the massive commercial scale achieved by Barker’s production.
