Obsidian continues work on Avowed 2 despite Xbox cancellation

A small team at Obsidian Entertainment is reportedly still developing the sequel Avowed 2 even after Xbox officially cancelled the project. The information comes from Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, who shared fresh details on his YouTube channel, noting that the team hopes to bring the game close enough to completion that Microsoft might allow a low‑cost finish and release.

Schreier said the sequel appears to be farther along than expected, and while the first Avowed launched to modest reception, the follow‑up could deliver a more polished RPG experience if it ultimately sees the light of day.
