Occitanie Region announces high school infrastructure and student aid investments

Occitanie regional officials Vincent Labarthe and Geneviève Lasfargues have announced several investments aimed at improving high school infrastructure and student support. Recent projects include the 9.9 million euro extension and restructuring of the Clément Marot high school in Cahors.

Future planned works in the Lot department include energy efficiency renovations at Lycée Monnerville and Lycée Champollion, as well as a 6 million euro reconstruction project at the La Vinadie agricultural high school. To address climate change, the region will allocate 10 million euros in the 2027 budget for adaptations such as air circulation systems, solar films, and improved insulation.

Regarding student aid, the LoRdi program will receive 33 million euros for the 2026-2027 period to maintain free laptop distribution despite rising hardware costs. Additionally, the region is increasing reading subsidies to 20 euros and providing 15 euros for UNSS sports licenses.
