Ocean conservation initiatives launch in Italy
Two major ocean-focused initiatives are launching in Italy to promote marine conservation and environmental awareness.
In Cagliari, the Ocean&Climate Village has opened at the Luna Rossa base. Developed by the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission and supported by the Prada Group through the SEA BEYOND project, the traveling scientific exhibition features multimedia installations and workshops. Curated by Formafantasma, the exhibit explores the interconnectedness of climate, biodiversity, and human activity. The village will remain open to the public daily until October 15, 2026.
Simultaneously, the tenth edition of the Ocean Film Festival World Tour Italia will run from October 14 to November 12. The festival, which showcases award-winning short and medium-length films from the Ocean Film Festival Australia, will tour 22 locations across Italian cinemas and theaters. The event aims to foster a culture of ocean awareness through storytelling, featuring environmental explorers and marine biologists.
