Ocean Winds begins construction of BC-Wind service base in Władysławowo

Ocean Winds has officially commenced construction of an operations and maintenance (O&M) base in Władysławowo, Poland, to support the BC-Wind offshore wind farm. The project was inaugurated on September 23 with a ceremonial cornerstone laying and the signing of the erection act.

The facility will serve as a logistical and service hub for the BC-Wind project for approximately 30 years. The two-story building will feature roughly 1,200 square meters of usable space, including office, social, storage, and dispatching areas. During the operational phase, approximately 30 people are expected to work at the site.

BC-Wind is Ocean Winds’ first project in the Baltic Sea, consisting of 26 wind turbines with a planned capacity of up to 390 MW. Once operational, the farm is expected to provide energy equivalent to the annual needs of over 488,000 Polish households. The base is located approximately 37 km (20 nautical miles) from the wind farm, with a transit time of about 70 minutes via Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV).

The investment also includes local infrastructure improvements, such as new sidewalks and an illuminated pedestrian crossing. Przembud Gdańsk S. A. is the general contractor for the base construction.
