Oceania Cruises announces industry-first gluten-free voyage

Oceania Cruises has announced the industry’s first entirely gluten-free ocean voyage, scheduled to depart on May 31, 2028, aboard the Oceania Vista. The 12-night roundtrip journey will begin in Southampton and visit various locations across England, Ireland, and Scotland, including Cork, Dublin, Glasgow, Stornoway in the Hebrides, and Edinburgh.

Every dining venue on the ship, ranging from specialty restaurants like Toscana, Polo Grill, Red Ginger, and Jacques to casual options such as Aquamar Kitchen and Waves Grill, will offer exclusively gluten-free menus. The program also includes gluten-free afternoon tea, in-suite dining, and pastries from the onboard bakery.

Developed in collaboration with Celiac Cruise, the voyage aims to eliminate concerns regarding menu navigation, food preparation practices, and cross-contact for travelers with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities.
