Oceania Cruises has reached a major construction milestone with the float-out of the Oceania Sonata at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy. The vessel is the first of five planned ships in the new Sonata Class, which is scheduled to expand the fleet through 2037. The Oceania Sonata is expected to debut in August 2027.

At approximately 86,000 gross tons, the ship is nearly 30 percent larger than the Oceania Allura but will feature only 90 additional guest accommodations, emphasizing increased public space and comfort. The ship will be adults-only, offering 695 rooms and suites, with one-third of the accommodations designated as suites. New categories include Horizon Suites and Penthouse Deluxe Suites.

In addition to new hardware, Oceania Cruises is expanding its onboard enrichment program across its entire fleet starting in 2027. The program will feature expert speakers specializing in heritage, culture, and history on every sailing, with additional specialists in fields like astronomy, artificial intelligence, and technology available on longer voyages.
