Jason Rojas wins Oceanman 2026 open-water swimming in El Salvador

Costa Rican swimmer Jason Rojas secured the overall absolute victory at the Oceanman 2026 competition held in El Salvador. Competing in the open waters of Lake Ilopango, Rojas completed the 10-kilometer course in 2:09:53, a time that also earned him first place in the men’s 20-to-29 age category.

The event drew more than 800 athletes representing 25 different countries. Competitions included various distances such as 500-meter, two-kilometer, and four-kilometer races, as well as team relay formats. Notable winners included Polish swimmer Michael Tomaszowski in the men’s sprint category and Costa Rican Jenny Cecilia Batista in the women’s master sprint category.

Rojas’s performance follows his previous victory at the Oceanman Costa Rica in late 2025 and serves as part of his preparation for the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima.
