Ochsner Health expands transplant services and pediatric care

Ochsner Health has reached several clinical milestones and expanded its service capabilities across multiple specialties. The Ochsner Transplant Institute recently performed its 4,000th liver transplant, contributing to a total of 10,000 organ transplants completed by the program across kidney, liver, heart, lung, and pancreas. To address access challenges, the institute utilizes multidisciplinary clinics and one-day evaluations to streamline the patient entry and evaluation process.

In Baton Rouge, Ochsner has expanded pediatric and women’s healthcare services at the Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove. This multi-million dollar expansion includes the addition of eight new physicians—six pediatric specialists and two obstetrician-gynecologists—along with more than 100 new team members. The upgrades aim to provide more convenient, specialized care for families in the Capital Region by offering adult and pediatric services in a single location.
