OCP Nutricrops to supply 3.8 million tonnes of fertilizer to Brazil
OCP Nutricrops and the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock have signed a memorandum of understanding to supply 3.8 million tonnes of fertilizer to Brazil during the 2026-2027 period. The agreement was finalized at the OCP industrial complex in Jorf Lasfar during an official visit by a Brazilian government delegation.
The shipment will primarily consist of phosphate-based fertilizers, with a significant focus on triple superphosphate (TSP). The partnership aims to provide customized plant nutrition solutions tailored to specific Brazilian soil types and crops. This supply is expected to cover approximately 76 percent of Brazil’s projected 5 million tonne fertilizer deficit for the 2026-2027 agricultural season.
Beyond supply logistics, the memorandum establishes a framework for cooperation in soil health, agricultural innovation, research, and training. The two parties intend to collaborate on digital agriculture, efficient production methods with lower CO2 emissions, and the development of new products to support local agricultural needs.
