Octavian Tucaliuc sets national javelin record at Parasport Games

Octavian Tucaliuc has set a new national record in javelin throw during the Parasport Games in Bucharest. Competing in the F12 class, Tucaliuc achieved a distance of 56.12 meters at the ‘Iolanda Balaș Soter’ Stadium.

This performance improves upon his previous best of 53.56 meters set at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships. Tucaliuc, a Tokyo 2020 Paralympics participant, has also achieved a personal best with this result.

The Parasport Games, which began on September 1 to mark Paralympic Sport Day in Romania, feature over 300 athletes competing in ten different sports across seven venues in Bucharest. Other early competition results include medals in wheelchair tennis and 3x3 wheelchair basketball.
