October 28 Observances: Saints, History, and Anniversaries

October 28 marks several historical and religious commemorations. In the Christian tradition, the Catholic Church celebrates Saints Simon the Zealot and Jude Thaddeus. Both were apostles among the Twelve; Simon is noted for his zeal for the Law, while Jude Thaddeus is often invoked as the patron of difficult cases.

Historically, the date marks the 104th anniversary of the March on Rome in 1922, an event that led to the establishment of the fascist dictatorship in Italy. Additionally, the day celebrates the 63rd birthday of Italian pop singer Eros Ramazzotti and is recognized internationally as Animation Day.
