Octopus Energy launches app for 211,000 North American EV chargers

Octopus Energy has launched Octopus Charge, a free iOS and Android application designed to consolidate electric vehicle (EV) charging access across North America. The platform allows drivers to locate, initiate, and pay for charging at more than 211,000 stations through a single interface.

The app aggregates 24 partner networks, including major providers such as ChargePoint, EVgo, Blink, bp pulse, Shell Recharge, FLO, Circle K, and AppleGreen Electric. Users can search by location or ZIP code and utilize filters for charging speed, connector type, and network. The platform also provides live availability, pricing, and an EV-specific route planner.

Octopus Energy stated that the app passes through the pricing of each individual network without adding a markup. This North American launch follows the success of Octopus Electroverse, which has provided access to over 1 million charge points across 40 countries in the UK and Europe since 2020.
