Octopus Energy partners with moving service to streamline utility switching

Octopus Energy has partnered with ‘Hikkoshi Renraku-cho’ (Moving Contact Book), a one-stop service for managing moving-related procedures, to allow customers to apply for electricity services during the relocation process.

Operated by TEPCO i-Frontiers and utilizing NTT DATA’s ‘BizMINT’ personal data distribution platform, the integration enables users to manage electricity, gas, water, and other lifelines simultaneously. By selecting Octopus Energy within the service, customers can easily switch to renewable energy providers while completing their move.

Octopus Energy, a joint venture with Tokyo Gas in Japan, provides renewable energy services and has seen significant growth in the Japanese market. The partnership aims to reduce the administrative burden of moving and empower consumers to choose energy providers more proactively.
