Octopus Energy reaches 10,000 heat pump milestone and announces air-conditioning add-on

Octopus Energy has reached a production milestone of 10,000 Cosy heat pumps in Europe. These devices are designed to utilize renewable energy sources to provide efficient home heating while reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

In addition to the production milestone, the company announced the Cosy Cooler, a low-cost add-on scheduled for release in 2027. The device is intended to convert existing Cosy heat pump systems into air-conditioning units. Priced between £500 and £600, the cooler is designed to be significantly more affordable than traditional air-conditioning installations, which can cost between £2,000 and £6,000.

The Cosy Cooler is expected to connect to existing pipework and can cool single rooms or multiple rooms depending on the heat pump model. Octopus Energy CEO Greg Jackson noted that the innovation aims to prepare homes for both freezing winters and increasingly hot summers.
