Octopus Harvest Season Drives Multi‑Hundred‑Thousand Peso Boat Investments in Yucatán and Venezuela

In Venezuela's Pampatar Bay, nearly 500 boats from Nueva Esparta and Sucre have gathered, exceeding the forecast of 300‑350 vessels. Although catches have fallen short of expectations, the influx has boosted local commerce. Authorities have instituted patrols and a fishermen‑support office to monitor vessels, protect gear and ensure environmental safeguards, following the mayor's directive to aid the maritime workforce.
